Since 1995, of the Republic of Belarus has been consistently adopted several decisions aimed at the creation and development of alternative energy sources. Adopted laws based on European experience.
At one time, much of the electricity generation capacity of Belarus have been transferred to the natural gas that the entire volume of fuel energy resources of the republic in 2008 was 85%.
At present in Belarus, the share of energy produced from renewable sources in total consumption of energy resources is about 7%, mainly due to hydroelectric power.
The Government supports investments in power industry:
- imposed higher tariffs on which the state acquires electricity from renewable energy,
- guaranteed purchase of electricity and a connection to the state grid,
- preferential terms for land,
- low cost of land lease,
- no customs duties on imported equipment,
- special preferential conditions for implementation of projects on construction of RES in the investment contract.
Electricity Tariffs
Tariffs sets by the Resolution of Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus #20 on January 28, 2010, and they set the cost of energy from the station of renewable sources greater at 30% than the tariff for electricity for companies.
Tariffs for companies sets by the Declaration of electricity energy by the “Belenergo” enterprise. Current tariffs sets by the precept of Department of prices politic of Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus #5 from 15.02.2010.
Today’s tariff is about 0,14 euro per kW from the station of renewable sources.
The common grid of the Belarus
The Republic has a highly developed grid that inherited from the Soviet past of the Republic. There are many enterprises of heavy industry in Belarus, that uses much of energy.
Particular requirement fort the renewable stations
The building of wind farms is without any special requirements today. The technical terms about noise, infra noise, electromagnetic radiation, vibration and others regulated by the hygienic laws and not much differentiate of European terms. We can confirm it by our experience.

The terms of successful realization the project
For the construction works of wind farm you need to get the building project made by the Byelorussian company. So you need to make several stages:
- collection the main starting information,
- land allotment,
- designing,
- government appraisal of project,
- receiving of government agree on building.

According tot he Decree #10 if the President from 06.08.2009 investor get several privileges if he has Investment contract:
- Land allotment, designing and building are more simple
- Land allotment without auction. The rent is about 100 euro per hectare.
- Free of customs taxes and VAT
- Other privileges according the terms of Investment contract.
All lands divided according their targets. In suburbs lands belong to a government agricultural enterprise. Investor can get this land by the act of land allotment on term about 99 years. We analyzed several lands for building Wind turbines.
